Start Writing!

The most common source of project delay is lack of content for the website. Specifically, written content. Every other aspect of the website might be finished and ready to implement, but if a significant chunk of content is missing, your website could be DOA.

Develop Content

You Know Your Business

You may not be a great writer. You're probably not a web developer. But you are an expert in your field. In short, if you want your website to be successful, you must be intimately involved in the content creation process. If you can't write, hire a copywriter (we can help with that), but plan on spending some real, meaningful time planning and structuring your content. You know your widgets better than anyone, now is your time to shine.

Write that content!

After refining your site tree, take some time to construct relevant content that will be used for each page of the website. Establishing content early on is crucial in the overall development process. As a rule of thumb, the more you can write for your website the better, as long as the content is relevant and written in a clear and understandable manner.

Remember the user

In the same way that newspapers write to accommodate a reading level that can be easily understood by the general public, you should properly evaluate the type of readers that your website is aimed at, and write accordingly. When writing, keep in mind that the main purpose is to write in such a way that will persuade your audience in the general direction that best suits your end goal. Think of your website as an excellent point of sale and your copy content as most direct path to that point.
